Me and my boyfriend had sex 2 weeks ago, it was my first time but not his, he used a condom, and everything went fine. He didn't c*m inside of me, but we stopped and he did afterwards but none of it touched me. Later on, he started fingering me, and we weren't sure if there was c*m on his finger or not, so I got scared and took plan b 2 days later. 5 days after drinking the pill I got some bleeding exactly on the day my period was supposed to come, but I dont know if that's good or bad.

Hi anon,

Thanks for your question. There is a low risk for pregnancy with the situation you described. Condoms are 98-percent effective at preventing pregnancy with perfect use and highly effective at preventing the transmission of STDs. Also, sperm cannot survive outside of the body for very long. They need the fluid in semen to survive so once that begins to dry they begin to die. The only way pregnancy is possible from fingering is if fresh, wet semen is inserted in the vagina or directly onto the vaginal opening almost immediately after ejaculation.

It is common to experience changes to your period after taking emergency contraception. Some people have breakthrough bleeding–or spotting when you’re not supposed to. Some people may have longer or shorter, heavier or lighter periods. Some people may notice their period come earlier or later. These changes to your period usually go away after a month or two.

If you are concerned about pregnancy, you can always take a pregnancy test–at home or in a clinic. The most accurate time to take a test is the day before your next period is due or if you miss your next period. Find a free or low-cost clinic near you with our clinic finder.

I hope this helps.
